Hitler and Eczema

eczema and hitler

Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician who was the leader of the Nazi Party (NSDAP), Chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945, and Führer (“leader”) of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He was effectively dictator of Nazi Germany, and was at the centre of World War II in Europe and the Holocaust.

In 1936, he started to develop lesions: “inflamed skin on his shins, so painful that he could not put on his boots along side digestive problems”…It was diagnosed as dermatitis (eczema)

-One of his inner circle in Berchtesgaden (his driver I think) recommended Dr T. Morell, who had treated him for gonorrhea. He was an physician who treated the rich and famous in Berlin and specialized in Venerelogy
-After “curing” the eczema, he was appointed as Hitler’s personal doctor for the next 9 years. Most doctors criticized his competence. He administered several substances (including cocaine and amphetamines) and a special diet (against his bloating) until 1945: he was known as “Der Reichspitritzmeister”: The Reich Master for Injections

Did Hitler have syphilis ? The facts:
-After world war I, he was treated for blindness from mustard gas poisoning and most of the inpatients there patients there were treated for venereal disease
-Morell was venerologist and he was able to diagnose and treat what Hitler’s to were incapable of
-He presented neuropsychiatric symptoms: paranoia, bursts of intense anger (rage). But because his body was burnt, after he committed suicide in his Berlin bunker there was no autopsy done which could have could have confirmed the presence of gumma (tertiary syphilis).
-So the answer remains somewhat speculative
