Psoriasis skin care guide

  • Psoriasis affects 2% of the population.

 

  • In addition to medical treatment the following advice in  a video by the American Academy of Dermatology (below) recommends the following:
    • Avoid skin injuries
    • Avoid sunburns
    • Follow the treatment thoroughly as prescribed by your dermatologist
    • Avoid scratching by doing the following in case of itch:
      • apply cold compresses
      • apply medication if prescribed
      • apply a moisturizer (moisturiser) during the day and a thicker cream or ointment in the evening
