- Wrinkles, skin roughness and pigmentation problems tend to develop from the late twenties and early thirties onwards.
- Simple skin care tips can make a difference
- The following video provides skin care tips by dermatologists from the American Academy of Dermatology:
- Use fragrance-free skin care products
- Moisturize (-se) the skin (better after a shower or if not enough apply additionally a few times a day)
- Apply sunscreen everybody on face, neck and hands (see video for instructions)
- Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or retinoid containing products can reduce wrinkles (but are irritating). On the hands consider applying a product containing glycolic acid or an anti-oxidant
- Consider products containing antioxidants
- If acne-prone skin, use a mild cleanser containing sulphur or salicylic acid and use only products which are non-comdogenic (“non-acnegenic”, “oil-free”)
- Do not smoke as it can lead to premature aging (ageing) and fine wrinkles
- For more advice or if you wish additional improvement, please see a dermatologist.
