Alopecia Areata in a few words

-Common hair disorder presenting to the dermatologist which often affects children and young adults.
-It is characterized by bald patches (non scarring alopecia) which can be associated (or not) with pitted nails.
-It’s cause is unknown but can appear 2 months following an emotional trauma related to the death or separation with a beloved person.
